Moraga – New Construction

San Francisco, CA

Description

The Moraga project consists of three new 2-unit, four-story buildings in San Francisco’s Inner Sunset District. Each building’s superstructure utilizes I-joist floor framing and long span steel and pre-engineered wood beams to accommodate an open floor plan. The lateral systems are comprised of traditional plywood shear walls and structural steel moment frames. Due to poor soil conditions at the site, mat slab foundations were used to support the superstructures. Chemical grouting was performed in order to stabilize the soils beneath the neighboring building and shore the foundation prior to excavation.
