Hard Water is an American whiskey bar and restaurant located at Pier 3 in San Francisco. Previously used as an office/studio, the 1,400 sq.ft. space was transformed into a bright, modern and intimate place where visitors can gather to enjoy bourbon-centric cocktails and light fare.
A new wood-framed platform that houses all mechanical equipment over the kitchen is braced down to the existing concrete pier structure with plywood shear walls. Structural services also included anchorage design for the kitchen mechanical equipment as well as structural support of a rolling library ladder and a custom steel-and-glass shelving system, which displays an expertly curated collection of vintage American whiskies.
